The Fifth Clinical School of Guangzhou Medical University Department of Rehabilitation Therapy
广州医科大学第五临床学院康复治疗学系共开设三个专业，包括康复治疗学（Rehabilitation Therapy，RT）、康复物理治疗（Physical Therapy, PT）和康复作业治疗（Occupational Therapy, OT）。其中，康复治疗学专业创建于2005 年，是全国最早开设该专业的院校之一。学院充分整合康复资源，开拓专业方向。2016年开始分康复物理治疗、康复作用治疗方向教育。2020年获教育部审批同时设置康复物理治疗、康复作业治疗专业。
专业方向：
（1）康复治疗学专业：为我国输送大量康复治疗师人才，于2020年成为广东省一流本科专业建设点，2021年获批国家级一流本科专业建设点。
（2）康复物理治疗专业：该专业开设于2016年（原康复治疗学物理治疗方向），该专业以WPT认证为目标，建设国际化的教学体系。
（3）康复作业治疗专业：该专业开设于2016年（原康复治疗学作业治疗方向），于2021年1月通过WFOT国际认证,认证等级为最高级别7年。
学生数量: 康复治疗学系拥有本科学生427名。
师资力量：学院聘请台湾中山医学大学，香港理工大学，悉尼大学的康复专家、教授来康复治疗学系担任课程主讲教师，也积极派遣骨干教师到美国北德克萨斯大学、纽约大学Rusk康复医院、美国杜肯大学、英国卡迪夫大学等知名院校访学、深造。
毕业与学位：
本科学制四年。颁发康复治疗、康复物理治疗或康复作业治疗专业本科毕业证书，授予理学学士学位。
The Fifth Clinical School of Guangzhou Medical University Department of Rehabilitation Therapy
The Department of Rehabilitation Therapy of the Fifth Clinical School of Guangzhou Medical University offers three undergraduate programmes, including Rehabilitation Therapy (RT), Physical Therapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT). Among them, the Rehabilitation Therapy major was established in 2005, and it was one of the first schools in China to offer this major. The school fully integrates rehabilitation resources and develops professional directions. In 2016, education was oriented in physical therapy and occupational therapy. In 2020, the Ministry of Education approved to set up physiotherapy and occupational therapy as major at the same time.
Programme:
(1) Rehabilitation Therapy: It was established in 2005 and has delivered a large number of rehabilitation therapists to all over the country. It has become a first-class undergraduate major in Guangdong Province in 2020 and a national first-class undergraduate major in 2021.
(2) Physical Therapy: It was established in 2016 (formerly the Rehabilitation Therapy oriented in Physical Therapy). The major aims to build an international teaching system with the goal of WPT accreditation.
(3) Occupational Therapy: It was established in 2016 (formerly the Rehabilitation Therapy oriented in Occupational Therapy) and was officially approved by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists Association with the highest level (7 years) in 2021.
Number of student: The department now has 427 undergraduate students.
Faculty: The school hired rehabilitation experts and professors from Chung Shan Medical University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the University of Sydney to hold the post of main lecturers at the Fifth Clinical School. It also actively dispatched key teachers to the University of North Texas, Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine of New York University, and Duquesne University, Cardiff University to visit and furthered their studies.
Degree:
The length of programme is 4 years. Awarded in the degree of the Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Therapy, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy.
